Kortelan nods. "That leads me farther to believe that the Rond is against us. What that means is when we get to Verronia you are going to have to challenge the Rond leaders. I am not sure how you would do that but I assume that you can and I will leave it up to you on how. Also know that if we have a fight in Verronia I will become the Ulor of the entire province which will put me in charge of our entire homelands." He goes over to An Op "Judging by the news I have gotten we are going to be facing a fight in Verronia. I can use my forces as support but you are going to have to bear the brunt of the battle. Can your men handle that or do they need more training?"

Lorgan looks shocked at what Kortelan said to him.
An Op responds to the question directed at him by saying, "My men are ready for anything."

"Good, lets hope you have enough men with enough skill to carry the day." He goes back to Lorgan "I know this is pretty shocking to you and everything but think about it, when someone has come to restore our lands to their former glory and the Rond turns its back? There is something not right about that. You can talk to them but I would not expect that they would do anything to help and may try to hinder."

After a bit more marching, the column comes to the great bridge over the Kajak River. It is one of the greatest engineering triumphs of the empire and it was built almost entirely by Verronese skill and labor.
It is unguarded except by a few tariff takers, who stand aside for the marching soldiers.
Now Kortelan beholds the great city of Verronia. It is one of the largest cities in the Empire with a population in the tens of thousands. In addition to being the cultural capital of the Verronese, it is also the leading financial center in the empire, the site of a huge Imperial Navy base, vast military and civilian shipyards, and probably the largest most active marketplace in the known world attracting merchants from every nation.
In addition to these attractions, it also has a garrison fortress so large and stout that it rivals even Kast Yvar. To this edifice Kortelan and his men turn their eyes as they cross the bridge. There are sentinels on the towers of the fortress who undoubtedly have seen their approach.

Kortelan looks at An Op and the other two commanders, "Lets go forward and greet these sentinels. This will be our first real testing." He looks to An Op for a second before continuing "I mean no offense An Op but with the orders, or lack there of, that you had Angenmar Paven was not that big of a fight." After that he rode towards the gates slowly showing he was coming in peace. Once within hailing range he yelled up to the sentinels. "Hail, I am Kortelan Ulor of both Kajakan Tros and Kajakan Folon. The three men you see behind me are Ersolan, leader of my personal guard, Lorgan of the Verron Rond, leader of a cavalry division, and An Op, leader of the garrison at Angenmar Paven. I wish to speak to your Ulor to make sure that the troop movements to Yishil go smoothly."

Dulimuk returns and reports that the troops are the North River Expedition led by Ekanor Falan Nemt. He met with Nemt and Nemt said there were not enough supplies for the army and they had no choice but to take them from local farmers. He said he was trying to get the army to march through the province as swiftly as possible, but that nothing more could be done to speed their advance.
