Remembering Krulmuk's instructions not to trust anyone from the Trayavix garrison, Nemt does not assign the 3rd and 4th kantoro to his force, given the choice.

City of Yishil Slythia Province Zekresh Empire
3rd day, 2nd month, 41 Cledman VI
Gurikan Falan Talimuk tells Nemt he doesn't have to have the Trayavix troops in his expedition if he doesn't want them. Talimuk points out that there are thousands of Verronese troops reported to be just one day's march west of Yishil. They are six kantoro of troops from the Verronese provinces in addition to the three kantoro of Verronese troops that are already in Yishil.
Talimuk suggests that Nemt take four kantoro of those. He also mentions that a kantora of Ilanian troops has just arrived at the port which is also supposed to be part of Nemt's expedition.
(Nemt will later confirm that a force of troops from Ilania did arrive at Yishil. They are the 1st Kantora Ilania.)

Nemt agrees to take four of the Verronese kantoro, and while waiting for their arrival goes to meet with the 1st Kantora Ilania's officers to further explain the expedition's status.

City of Yishil Slythia Province Zekresh Empire
4th day, 2nd month, 41 Cledman VI
The commander of the 1st Kantora Ilania is named Galin. He seems reasonably competent and his men give the superficial appearance of being better quality troops than most. They seem to have good discipline and are well equipped.
Gurikan Galin pays careful attention to Nemt's remarks on the expedition.
Verronese troops arrive at Yishil under command of Ekanor Falan An Op. The troops are the 1st, 2nd & 3rd Kantoro Kajakan Folon, and 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Kantoro Kajakan Yost.
Late in the day, news reaches Yishil that nearly all of Glantogran province has been overrun by Tronds. This news arrives by imperial courier from Trayavix province and is unlikely to be just a rumor. The courier is bearing a message for the Lord Chancellor and the message is passed on to a new courier heading for Zekran.
Gurikan Falan Talimuk summons Nemt and asks for a report on how soon his expedition can depart. Talimuk has heard the news already and is very concerned.

Nemt examines An Op's forces and informs him of the mission to the North River region, asking what four kantoro he thinks would be most fit.
Later, when meeting with Talimuk, Nemt says he shares his concern over the recent news, and informs him he's willing to depart by land as soon as possible, assuming the remaining south peninsula kantoro can be redirected to a northern port to meet up with the main force as they arrive.

Ekanor Falan An Op considers this carefully, then consults with his officers and reports back, "I believe that these units are the best among those I have with me:
1st Kantora Kajakan Yost 2nd Kantora Kajakan Yost 1st Kantora Kajakan Folon 3rd Kantora Kajakan Folon
Also, I request the honor of going with you to wage war for the honor of the Empire. I could, perhaps, serve as your second in command or as garrison commander to bring one of the rebellious provinces back into line. I would even accept a kantora command. I have commanded four kantoro of troops in battle during the recent crisis and prevailed except when ordered by Ulor Tremalkan to put troops in an untenable position and keep them there. It turns my stomach that I had to fight our own army. I would give anything for a chance to wash of the shame of that with the blood of barbarians and rebels."

(OOC: I was looking for a Yishil thread to post i n and didn't find one so I'm going to post here. I hope its okay. If I understand the situation correctly, I am in Yishil with the troops from my province.)
Princess Evanit seeks out General Dulimuk and asks if his troops are ready to march back to Tanan.

Nemt assigns the suggested units to the expedition and tells An Op he's impressed by his experience in the crisis, and could use him in the upcoming campaign. "I could use capable commanders on the battlefield, and I'll need to garrison men after bringing provinces under control to assure they stay that way - whichever you'd feel more suited to" he continues. "Of course, I'll have to speak with Talimuk, but I'm sure he'll agree and allow it" Nemt adds.
(OOC: PE, you should probably make a separate topic "Princess Evanit in Yishil" or something along those lines.)

Talimuk says he's willing, but he doesn't have a qualified man to replace him since he's been replacing so many provincial garrison commanders. He says he'll ask An Op if he can recommend an officer from his garrison. He also says that if Nemt can recommend a good officer to take over command of the Kajakan Folon garrison then he will assign An Op to be garrison commander of Aatan and place him under Nemt's authority.
(OOC: I told Evanit to post here. I don't expect that she'll be here long enough to justify a new thread and she's here because her troops are here and are being taken away from her command by Talimuk and assigned to an expeditionary force. That's directly related to the topic of this thread.)

"Though he's just an Ekanor now" Nemt says, "I think Garon of the 3rd Zekresh would make a capable garrison commander." He goes on to tell Talimuk he's not sure how appropriate it would be to double-promote someone, though. "Perhaps An Op could recommend someone to replace him in Kajakan Folon?"

Talimuk says, "I'll ask An Op if he has a recommendation. This Garon you speak of, he'd have to be promoted two ranks? So he's only an ekanor? I think we can find someone better than that. I would not entrust a garrison command to a man who is only an ekanor. I presume he hasn't even commanded a kantora."

Talimuk says, "Ekanor Falan Gevan can handle more responsibilities. I can't spare him to be garrison commander of Kajakan Folon because I just appointed him garrison commander of Slythia, but he can help your expedition. You go ahead and get marching with your troops. All units assigned to your expedition that arrive after you depart will be temporarily placed under Gevan's command and I'll instruct him to send them on after you. You need to move by sea as much as possible because it's faster, but we're using all available ships to move the other expeditionary force across the Eastern Sea. I'll write orders authorizing you to seize all transport ships you can find along the way. If any ships become available here, Gevan will send your reinforcements to Trayavix ahead of you by sea. Unfortunately I don't have authority over the navy or I'd authorize you to take their ships as well. Instead, I'll write a letter for you urgently requesting their assistance. When you get to Verronia, there is an enormous naval base there. It's probably the largest in the empire. Many navy ships will be going overseas, taking troops to Krulmuk, but if any are left there, try your best to get them to take your men north. This latest news from the North makes me think the situation there is far worse than we had thought. Do not waste a single day. Do not waste a single hour. Get your men up there as soon as possible."
Talimuk writes the order authorizing Nemt to seize all ships except navy ships and then writes the letter requesting assistance from the navy. He gives both of these documents to Nemt. Then he writes orders to Gevan and gives them to a courier and instructs the courier to summon Ekanor Falan An Op.

Meanwhile, Evanit is told by some soldiers that Nemt is in command of the expedition so her troops must be under his command.
