Ekanor Falan Ardimuk was silent for several long moments. His face held an expression of bewilderment, then stern contemplation. "Ulor, if you truly mean to follow through with this, may I ask what place there would be for people in this Aatanian Empire for who are not Aats? What of the Trond tribes? What of the Foerfen? What of the few Zekresh who live in Aatan? What of those who are of mixed parentage such as myself?" He replied with a kind smile, "This would be a place of freedom and equality for all. Tronds, Zekresh, and all others would be looked upon not for their ethnicity, but for the mere fact that they are human. No man should be better than any other. That is the way I view the world, and the way I would run this nation."

Ardimuk says, "I am glad to hear that. I am still trying to imagine where this will lead. The Empire will not stand for it. Have no illusions about that. You'll be driven into the mountains in the first serious offensive. There you could resist, possibly for a long time. You could become like the clan chiefs of the Aats of the mountain valleys at the source of the White River. I do not see how you can build an Empire. It seems more likely it would be a difficult fight just to hold a haven in the mountain valleys. I will give this matter further thought."
With that, Ardimuk departed.

The Ulor called after his friend and Garrison Commander, "I need you to gather all advisors and Government peoples within the Province here. We need to ensure that all agree on our course of action."

Ardimuk turned at the door, "Eh? Oh. Alright. I'll bring the military officers. Those who are available, that is. Some are in the mountains chasing smugglers. Let us meet again in two days' time."

Gesanie enters. He is a large man. Tronds are known for being large. He is dressed mostly in furs. His hair is lighter than that of most people (another Trond trait), but not blond and his skin is lighter coloured as well, (also a Trond trait).
"Ulor, I have heard your call for warriors to serve Aatan. I have formed the men of my tribe into a kantora. Even now they are guarding the northern frontier. I am their leader and I ask to be acknowledged as such."

(OOC: Sorry, we lost track of this thread when the most recent postings were on the other thread.)
Ulor's Palace Renifar, Aatan Oron 21, Salgan 10, Adonsik 40 Cledman VI (21/10/40 Cledman VI)
Nine Aat clan leaders were shown into the Ulor's office.
One of them spoke first, "Greetings brother Wanderjar. We exalt you for your brave declaration of independence. I am Ondifar. Long have I pleaded in vain for this step to be taken, together with my kinsmen Gelibar and Ossifar," he indicated the two men named.
"Now that the day has come, we welcome it with open arms though we know what must come next. Sooner or later, the Empire will again send armies to crush us. We must be ready. Your wisdom is evident in that you have already called our people to arms. Every one of the nine of us is a clan chief and each of us has called together our men and formed a kantora ready to fight. We are not the only ones. There are other clans, some of them kinsmen of ours, who have also organized their men into military forces."
"Now we come to you to plan the next step. Ordinarily the clan chiefs would not allow an Ulor of the Empire to attend their gatherings, much less come to visit the Ulor. We honor you by making this exception and coming here. But for a full gathering of the clan chiefs, you will need to come to a more traditional meeting place, in the mountains. For that is what we propose to do. We shall hold a gathering of the clan chiefs to discuss and decide what should be done. We invite you to come. The meeting will occur on the day of the Winter Solstice at Kelingam in the mountains. We have invited all the Aat clan chiefs to come, even those who live on the Western Slope of the moutains who have never been part of the Empire and those at the headwaters of the Rassafram River which the Zekresh call the Shasa Dinak. Will you attend this meeting?"

Ulor's Palace Renifar, Aatan Oron 22, Salgan 10, Adonsik 40 Cledman VI (22/10/40 Cledman VI)
Jezefar announces that Ekanor Falan Ardimuk has arrived and shows him into the Ulor's office along with another military officer.
Ekanor Falan Ardimuk says, "My apologies. You asked me to come back in two days time and it has been a lot longer than that. Many things have occupied my mind and my time. Allow me to introduce to you Gurikan Gamuk, commander of the 3rd Kantora Aatan. You asked me to bring my officers, or at least those who can be spared. Gamuk is the only kantora commander who could come today. The other two, Dalifar and Yandifar, are in the mountains. They were supposed to be dealing with smugglers, but now we have a much more serious concern."
"What's that?" Ulor Wanderjar asked.
"The local clans up there have got it in their heads that your declaration of independence means they don't have to pay taxes anymore. There have been a lot of incidents of mountain people throwing rocks at the troops and shouting at them to go back to Zekran. This is despite the fact that most of the troops are actually from Aatan. Both the kantora commanders up there are Aats. Something's got to be done."
