Ok, so there are threads here on some specific things that ask questions like Wonders of the world?, Wine and spirits in the empire?, and such. What I made this for is so you can tell us everything that the normal character would know but the player doesn't.

Sounds like what the wiki should be used for.

I know, but I am running the Wiki and I don't know this stuff.

Okay. What do you want to know?

I was thinking little things. Like clothing, daily lives, who eats what food and how often, a detailed account of each area's history as it was passed down through the generations, the wives tales, the rules of thumbs, songs, what instruments there are and how the different kinds of music sound, pretty much the things that every person would know that seems unimportant to know in a game but having it leads to a higher level of realism.

Let's start with specific questions. On the subject of clothing, I am working on a revised nationalities list that hopefully will include the traditional clothing of each nation.
Which of those other things do you want to hear about first?

Since you have clothing lets go with daily lives. How do each class live in each area? Do you live differently if you are of a certain nationality? I know it will take a long time to get that all together but I think knowing this sort of thing and having it all together so I can put in on the wiki will be very good.

I'm not even sure I understand the question.

I want to know things like how do the peasants live. How do the middle class live? And how do the privileged live? How does your race and racial discrimination effect how you live? How does living in different parts of the Empire effect how you live?

I'd imagine there isn't really a middle class. In societies with slavery and an ancient decentralized economy there's really just two classes, the wealthy and everyone else (artisans, merchants, soldiers, farmers, etc.) with most of the peasant/serf work seen in later feudal systems done by slaves.

I wouldn't imagine there would be much of one if any but as the Gamemaster(s) have pointed out this is not Earth. I have yet to see how its different in more then a superficial way but you never know.

I'm not sure what you would consider non-superficial differences. Some differences seem important to us, but you haven't seen them yet.
I'll try to post an answer to your question soon, but I have to deal with something else right now.

Ok. By non-superficial differences I mean as I see the Zekresh empire right now I can imagine it being on Earth. There is nothing that I have seen that is not a short step from what happened on Earth. In other words as a person who is going to start college as a history major next year I can see how you have drawn on Earth's history to make Zekran. I can see how Zekran could have been Rome or Rome could have happened in a land mass like Zekran. The geography is different and everything but it just seems to be a Roman Civil War at the end of Pax Romana with different land, different languages, different names, with less organization, and a less centralized history. Now on Earth, anytime before the late days of the feudal era there would only be the rich and the serfs. Then as it did more good then bad to make cities and have free men who later became the middle class the middle class and then the rise for democratic republics happened. Without the chain of events there would have never been a middle class or a rise in democratic republics. Is there something that makes the Zekresh Empire different? Is development of key features dependent on something else? I know this is probably not coming out how it sounds in my head but what I am saying is what makes the Zekresh Empire so different than any Earth Empire? I know that is just more questions to answer but that is pretty much the whole superficial/non-superficial debate in my head.

We did deliberately create a situation that would greatly resemble Earth in some times and places. That includes all the times and places you've seen so far.
Although I know that some forces have shaped the world of the Zekresh Empire that are significantly different than on Earth, I suppose you are right that the resulting civilization could have easily come about on Earth.

Well I suppose we have reached an agreement and I will take your word on some forces being different and I will assume that for now I will be in the dark about them.
