The men of the 3rd Kantora Zekresh set out from Arinixervolt on the 29th day fo the 10th month of the 40th year of the reign of Emperor Cledman VI.
Ulor Nemt was at the head of the column on a horse.
The men covered more than sixty talong a day on the march across the desolate land, keeping close to the banks of the Snake River.
On the eighth day, (37/10/40 Cledman VI) Ekanor Arno expressed his opinion that they had crossed the border into Sligifteria province. Like many of the other soldiers and Ulor Nemt, Arno had picked up some of the Kopixer language during his stay at Arinixervolt.
The local farmers here dressed the same and spoke a language so similar to Kopixer that Ekanor Arno could even recognize some words, but it was clearly a different language.

The troops marched on. On the 10th day of march, (39/10/40 Cledman VI) Ekanor Arno was able to confirm with a local resident that they were indeed in Sligifteria Province. On the other side of the river was Zamarula Province.

Somewhere in Sligifteria Province 42/10/40 Cledman VI
The 3rd Kantora Zekresh made much better time in Sligifteria Province and reached Vasservold, the provincial capital, on the 13th day of the march. They arrived on the last day of the last month.
The next day was Oronoran, the Winter Solstice festival day, the last day of the year.
Though other religions were practiced more widely in Vasservold than the Zekresh religion, merchants were hawking scapegoats for sale for Oronoran sacrifices the next day.

At the Mouth of the Snake River 3/1/41 Cledman VI
Oronoran came and went, then New Year's day. The men of the 3rd Kantora Zekresh continued their march to the sea.
On the 17th day of their march and the 3rd day of the new year, the soldiers reached the sea. There was a small village there, but on the other side of the Snake River, they could plainly see the city of Osim.
Ekanor Arno asked Ulor Nemt, "How shall we get across the river, sir?"

(OOC: The Snake River at this point is quite large and cannot be forded. You will need boats. There village on your side of the river appears to be a fishing village, but there are no boats. They are probably out fishing at this time of day. You could wait until the end of the day and try to commandeer those, if there are any, but they would take a long time to ferry so many men over. There are a couple of really small boats visible in the river. Another alternative would be to ask the boatmen to take just you or an officer across to the huge navy base at Osim and ask them to bring your men over. But if you don't want the cooperation of the navy, you could instead try to get large private ships from Osim to do the job. Or you could send a messenger to Ulor Argif at Osim to ask for help. Or you could think of something else. Theoretically the men might be able to swim if they left all their gear behind and weren't too worried about being swept out to sea by the current.)

I'll cross with Arno and a few soldiers and see if any merchant ships will be able to do the job. I'll talk with the seamen, Arno should try to speak with Ulor Argif to inform him I will not be able to attend the regional conference he mentioned some time ago, and that Krevimuk has been appointed acting Ulor in my absense.

You are able to get a fisherman on the river to take you across to Osim in his boat together with Ekanor Arno and some soldiers. Ekanor Garon is in command of the kantora while you are away.
You find four ships in the port of Osim that are willing to take the men across, but they want payment and I don't think you have enough money with you to pay them. Also, the four ships have a combined passenger capacity of 387 (50, 120, 150, and 67) which is not nearly enough to take the whole kantora across in one trip.
Ekanor Arno returns from his visit with Ulor Argif. With him are three armed guards from the local Rizado Uloresh (governor's guards) and a provincial official named Lanimuk.
Ekanor Arno gestures to the men with him and says, Ulor Argif insisted I take them back with me so Lanimuk here could give you a message.
Lanimuk says, "Ulor Nemt, your excellency, I am an advisor to Ulor Argif. He has sent me here to inform you that the conference on regional government is still underway at the Ulor's palace here in Osim. Ulor Argif would have come personally, but the conference has reached a critical stage and he needs to be there. Also, Ulor Argif not only invites you to attend, but implores you to attend. I am instructed to inform you that Ulor Argif will of course give you every assistance in transporting your men across the Western Sea if you will attend even one day of the conference."

Very well Lanimuk, I will attend the remainder of the conference. Arno and I will depart for the palace. I'd like you, or some of the guards, to return with my remaining men to our encampment on the other side of the river, preferably with a few casks of wine (to make up for the delay and long journey still to come), to explain the situation to the third kantora.

Lanimuk says, "It shall be done. The guards here can show you the way to the palace."
Ekanor Arno says, "As can I. I just came from there." Arno then instructs the four soldiers of the 3rd Kantora Zekresh to return to the unit with Lanimuk.

(As we walk to the palace)
Arno, you're a good soldier - what do you think of Krevimuk back in Kopixer?
